Enough is Enough.
So, I’m a bit sick of the software for this site. brainscat runs on Simplog software, an open source web publishing engine. Basically, it’s immature software with bugs, but more importantly, poor expandability. Looking for an alternative, I’ve stumbled upon WordPress, a much more mature package that does the same thing. While it doesn’t have all the features that the geek in me would love, it looks to have a sizable userbase, active developers, and a nice system for modules. The first task I’ll be undertaking is writing a converter for the Simplog format to the WordPress format.

Did you ever do this? I’m in the same boat and don’t know how to proceed to get out of Simplog and into WordPress.

I can’t remember for sure… but I think I used the XML based import in WordPress. Basically, if you point it at the full-text RSS feed from Simplog, it’ll import it fine.
