No XBox? Play Nintendo Games.

I’ve been sans an Xbox for the past couple months, as it’s been in my sister’s custody for a while. I just got it back, but I figured it’d be a good idea to highlight what I’ve been playing lately.

Warioware Inc. MicroGame$
A childish, ludicrously fun, whimsical collection of three second long mini-games. You have to figure out what game you’re playing, remember the controls, and beat the game all within a very short timespan. This lends itself to a very frantic gameplay and the goofy themes to the games help to make it better. Think of playing a collection of Japanese gameshow commercials at an increasingly fast rate.

Warioware Inc. Mega Party Game$
It’s pretty much the same great game as the GBA version, but with a ton of multiplayer modes thrown in that are quite fun. We’ve had multiple groups of friends over since renting it who have loved it. To quote Penny Arcade, “ Indeed, with a funk index of 143, one could bump their ride simply by placing the disc on the hood.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
A must have for fans of the original game for the PlayStation. Much of the same gameplay is kept intact, and new races & jobs make the game interesting. While it seems far less challenging than I think it should be, it’s a great game nonetheless. As you would expect the story is compelling, and character/clan advancement is the rewarding focus of the game. The only real bitch I have with the game, and all Final Fantasy games, is that there are too many secrets that nobody would *ever* stumble upon without the help of the walkthrough. All I can surmise is that this is the gaming industry’s plot to sell more friggin’ Prima Game Guides. Hello? Have you all not heard of GameFAQs?
